With the approach of Thanksgiving and a little time off from school, it’s nice to have a few Thanksgiving activities ready to go that you can enjoy with the kids, grandkids, or other kids! I’ve collected all of my printable Thanksgiving activities in one place to make them easier for you to find and use this Thanksgiving.
While some of these printable activities may require a little prep work, I assure you they will be fun…and you can even sneak in some learning, too!

Printable Thanksgiving Activities for Kids

Your eager preschooler or Kindergartner might not be able to bear the thought of taking a break from schoolwork. Just print off a few of these turkey feather letter sound sorts. Kids can even hide the feathers from each other and then put the turkeys back together again based on letter sounds. {This is a sample from our Build-a-Turkey Phonics Pack.}
Grab a copy of our FREE EDITABLE Turkey Word Game. Fill in the words your learners need to work on, print off, and your learners are ready for some word fun!
If your eager child is working on short vowel sounds, these turkey short vowel coloring pages may hit the spot over Thanksgiving break, especially if your child likes to color.
This Thanksgiving Cut it Out! Pack has four levels of cutting practice with extension activities for each level. So, kids who are just learning to use the scissors can enjoy it right along with an older sibling or cousin who has more advanced skills! You can also find more Cut it Out! Packs.
If you have kids who like to color, these fall color by letter coloring pages also include a few with a Thanksgiving theme.
These fall playdough mats {Thanksgiving mats are included} are a fun way to work in some fine motor skills. It’s also neat to see how everyone will complete the picture with playdough! Find more playdough mats.
Playdough and turkeys remind me of our playdough turkey fun. This one kept the kids busy for a LONG time. There isn’t a printable included, but who needs one when you’re having this much fun? {Love how this one really works those fine motor muscles needed for writing.}
Break out the pattern blocks and work these fun Thanksgiving Pattern Block Mats. And after the kids have worked them, they can even create their own pattern block mats for each other!
Work on math facts with this fun Roll-a-Turkey Math Facts Dice Game. Use it work on addition, subtraction, and simple multiplication and division. Wow!
Work on punctuation turkey-style with these free Turkey Sentence Punctuation Sorts.
Work on some fun Thanksgiving poetry with our Thanksgiving Poetry Pack. Activities include spelling, rhyming, comprehension, and building fluency. Great for Pre-K to 2nd grades! Find all our seasonal poetry packs.
While these Thanksgiving journals are great to start on November 1st with kids, they could also be printed and divided up among the kids {and adults}, each contributing to a Thanksgiving book from the family. Then read it together as a family.
If you have older kids/learners, they might prefer our Giving Thanks ABC Chart instead of the Thanksgiving Journal {mentioned above}. In each of the four charts, the ABC’s are included with space to draw/write something they’re thankful for each day.
Even if you don’t like the idea of arts and crafts scattered all around, break them out for this fun disguise the turkey activity! Kids can even write why their turkey shouldn’t be eaten from the perspective of the turkey. My kids LOVED this one this year!
BONUS: Print off the turkey coloring page found towards the end of the post. It’s perfect for older kids, too!!
Perhaps your turkey doesn’t need a disguise, but wants to hide. Well, then use those same arts and crafts to camouflage the turkey! FUN!
Encourage kids to express their thankfulness to others by writing thank you notes. Print off a few of this fall-themed stationary and encourage the entire family to leave thank you notes for others.
Play a friendly spelling game to review those spelling words, even over Thanksgiving break with Word Bump! Kids can keep totally different word lists, meaning older and younger kids can play the same game together. Find all our seasonal Word Bump! games.
