Coloring pages. I know. I know. Busy work, right?
I used to think so until I started using them during our read aloud time to keep the little ones quiet so the big ones could hear. 🙂 Seriously. My kids are LOUD. My house is LOUD.

I am blessed that all my kids like to color. So, when I break out the coloring pages, all is calm (for at least 2 minutes anyway). 😉
Fall Color by Letter Coloring Pages
In the free pack of coloring pages (free download at the end of this post), you will find 4 different versions.Â
- Upper case letters (color words in color)
- Lower case letters (color words in color)
- Upper case letters (color words in black/white)
- Upper case letters (color words in black/white)
The first two versions are meant for younger children who need the extra support of the color word written in its color. The second two versions are for older Pre-K/K who may not need that extra support any more. You can also use the second two versions to save on colored ink. And if your child still needs the extra support of the color words, just highlight or underline the color words with their appropriate color to make it more of an independent activity.
The fall images included in the coloring pages pack are:
- apple basket
- fall leaves
- fall tree
- scarecrow
- harvest vegetables
- turkey
More Fall Fun:
- Fall Playdough Mats {open-ended mats}
- FALL Pre-K/K Pack
- Natural Fall Leaf Collages {great for fine motor}

I have searched everywhere for coloring pages that teach color words. I want my girls to have to read the color word over and over as they color, so I don’t want color by number. I can find pages for learning sight words, number words, math problems, and loads of others, but none for learning color words! It’s mind boggling!
