Downloading and Printing Help from This Reading Mama

Are you having trouble printing and/or downloading the resources from This Reading Mama? Try some of these tricks!

First, Where Do I Download the Freebies?

Scroll down towards the bottom of every post and look for the teal, download box that looks like this*:

*Note that older posts may have an oval download button while very old posts will just have text links such as, “Download the freebie HERE.” Be sure to click on “HERE” in the text links. {I am working on getting all these updated, but I have nearly 1,000 posts to go through, so your patience is appreciated!”}

Downloading & Printing Tips

1. Make sure you have downloaded and installed the newest version of Adobe Reader. You will need to open the files with Adobe Reader, so make sure yours is current and is set as your default for opening my files!

2. Try another internet browser. Internet Explorer tends to be the one that causes the most problems, so try to avoid it, if possible. My favorite browser is Chrome, but others may include Mozilla Firefox or Safari.

3. Save the file directly to your computer. Right click on the download image that says, “Download the freebie HERE,” and save the file directly to your computer. Make sure you pick the folder you want to save to so it’s easy for you to find! 🙂

By the way, this trick also seems to work if you are unable to get dotted lines to print from your PDF.

Save Link As Download Trick from This Reading Mama

4. If you print a file and have black boxes around your clip art, try these two tips:

1- Make sure you download with the newest version of Adobe Reader.
2- Save the PDF to your device. Print the PDF from your SAVED copy, not the preview of the file.

5. If you’re trying to access printables from your school computer, sometimes their servers block my site and/or the downloads. Try from home or as your IT person if you’re having trouble at school.

6. Nearly all of my freebies are no strings attached. Only a small percentage of them require you to enter your email to snag them. Sometimes these give people trouble. Be sure you’re using Chrome. If you’re already a subscriber, entering your email address WILL NOT subscribe you twice.

*If you have tried these tricks and are still having trouble downloading or printing, please contact me at becky {at} thisreadingmama {dot} com. I will try to help any way that I can, but please note that I am unable to email files to people.

Enjoy!
