Vowel Teams Write & Read Pack

This simple write and read pack for vowel teams can help learners practice listening for and spelling words with vowel teams in them.

The 17 vowel pairs included in this pack are: ay, ai, ee, ea, igh {really a trigraph, I know} oa, ow {as in snow}, oo {as in moon}, ew, ui, oo {as in book}, ou, ow {as in cow}, oi, oy, aw, and au.

The first activity in the pack are some write and read cards. These are great to use with a small group or one-on-one with learners. I recommend laminating, cutting them out, and then hole-punching them in the top corner so you can make a flip book like you see in the image above.

Learners use a dry erase marker to finish the word using the correct vowel team. {4 different cards are included for each vowel team.} After learners write the word, they read the word.

Seven NO PREP pages have also been included in the pack. Learners pick the vowel team that completes the word and matches the picture.

Note: The vowel pair choices at the top of each page are different enough that learners do not have to choose between two similar pairs like ee/ea or ou/ow. This makes it a better fit if your learners are using these as independent pages.
