CVCe Words – Write & Read Pack

This write and read pack is a simple way to help learners practice listening for and spelling words with the CVCe or sneaky/silent e pattern. The pack includes

  • a_e
  • e_e  {Yes, e_e IS included!}
  • i_e
  • o_e
  • u_e

CVCe Words - write and read cards

First in the pack are the write and read cards. Use them with a small group or one-on-one with learners. I recommend laminating, cutting them out, and then hole-punching them up in the top corner so you can make a flip book like you see in the image above.

Learners use a dry erase marker to finish the word using the correct CVCe pattern. {Eight different cards are included for each CVCe pattern, except e_e. It only has four cards.} After learners write the word, they read the word.

CVCe words - write and read pages

Five NO PREP pages have also been included in the pack. Learners pick the long vowel pattern that completes the word and matches the picture.

    Hi Becky,
I have previously been able to print many of your freebees without any problems. However, recently in order for me to print something of yours, I need to download the converter to make it a PDF file?
Any thoughts? My principal does not want me to download the program – so I’m afraid if this can’t be fixed I would have to unsubscribe to your site!
    Please advise,
    Stacy

      Hi Stacy,

The only thing you need to download the PDFs from my site is Adobe Reader. No converter is needed. Just be sure you’re clicking on the teal download button towards the end of the post. If you have Adobe Reader, the PDF should come right up for you.

Do you have any of your read and write printable with clip art only so students can write on their own paper? That would allow me much less copies and laminating for my classroom.

      I sure don’t. I’m sorry!
