When I originally designed Reading the Alphabet, a slow-paced reading curriculum for young readers, I started sight word coloring pages on lesson 15. Since then, I’ve had several requests to add sight word coloring pages for lessons 1-14. So, today I’m sharing those for FREE!

Sight Word Coloring Pages from Reading the Alphabet
These coloring pages are very simple ON PURPOSE, as they are designed for young children. (My son started Reading the Alphabet when he was nearly 4 and my daughter started it when she was 4 years old).
If your child doesn’t enjoy coloring, do not feel pressured to make him do them. When it comes to teaching young children, I believe with all my being that it’s important to follow their lead. The last thing we want to do is push or pressure a reluctant learner into becoming a resistant learner at such a young age.
Included in this free pack are sight word coloring pages in color (color words are in color) and a set of blackline pages, in case you don’t have a color printer.
Kids follow the color key and color in the pictures by sight words. The sight words follow the new and review sight words from each lesson (1-14) of Reading the Alphabet. I’ve even included pages for the AT word family and the IG word family, too! {Note: There are two versions of the mitten coloring page- an easier and a harder version.}

Hi! I purchased and have been using your Reading the alphabet curriculum. My 4 & 5 yr olds love it. My 5 yr old just finished it as we used it to supplement a kindergarten phonics program we were using that did not introduce sight words yet. Did you ever develop sight word readers to introduce the next set of sight words?
Thanks for all your hard work and willingness to share!
My daughter finished RTA at Christmas and I have developed Learn to Read, which comes after RTA. You can read more about it here–> https://thisreadingmama.com/learn-read-curriculum-word-families/
Thank you.
I love this, my daughter really like the color by word and the other coloring was just a little too simple for her anymore. Is there a particular reason there isn’t a color by word for the Gg Lesson? The pdf goes from the rocket to the lollipop.
Oh my! I didn’t realize I skipped Gg. I’ll have to add that one! Thank you!
