Greek Roots and Latin Stems Posters
When learners move more into reading to learn {versus learning to read}, they begin to encounter longer words that contain Latin stems and Greek roots. The English language, after all, has MANY words from Greek and Latin.
They can see these words as they read any book, but these kinds of words really begin to show themselves in their science books, history books, and math books.
Teaching learners the roots and stems and what they mean can help learners break down words AND understand what they’re reading much better. This may seem overwhelming or intimidating, but my goal in making and sharing these posters was to make your job easier in that department. 🙂

Each poster contains:
- The root or stem
- The meaning of the morpheme with an image
- Words learners may encounter in their reading to show the root or stem meaning
The 10 Greek roots in this free pack are: bio, chron, geo, graph, logy, phon, photo, scope, tele, & therm
The 10 Latin stems in the free pack are: aud, bene/bon, cap, cred, dict, ject, miss/mit, port, scrib/script, & vid/vis
Note: This is a sample pack from the Greek Roots and Latin Stems Posters in my shop. And if you’re a Library Member, you’ll find the free posters I’m sharing in this post in printable and no print format.
