Today, I’m sharing 20 FREE Rhyme Time game boards we have used to continue the rhyming fun!
Rhyming is such an important pre-reading skill. My almost 4 year old loves playing simple rhyming games wherever we go. I’ve even created a DUPLO rhyming activity for her as well as a Roll-a-Rhyme game.

FREE Rhyme Time Game Boards
These rhyme time games are great to play ANY time, but especially fun around Dr. Seuss Day/National Read Across America Day. That’s because the rhymes featured come directly from three of his most loved books: 1- The Cat in the Hat, 2- 1 Fish, 2 Fish, 3 Fish, Blue Fish, and 3- Green Eggs and Ham.
Rhyme Time! is played in a similar way to BINGO. A teacher or student calls out a word and players cover their cards if they have the word that rhymes with it.
You can plan four in a row wins, three in a row across wins, four corners wins, or whoever covers their entire board first. It’s fun to mix it up!
Note: I chose the fun font for these rhyme time game boards to make it look kind of “Dr. Seuss-y”. Thanks to a reader’s suggestion, I’m offering these boards in a printed font, too. This is a great option for young readers and spellers who may need to see the correct look of print. Look for that download link below, too!
