Build a Flower Letter Sounds Sort
My 4 year old has become obsessed with letter sounds lately. Not a day goes by when she doesn’t come up to me at some point and say, “Mom, let’s play the letters.” And I must admit that I’m loving every minute of it!
And if she sees me creating something on the computer, she will often ask me if I’m making something for her. I’ve been busy with Learn to Read, but I decided it was time for her to have a little alphabet fun with these cute, letter sound flowers.
You can easily make these sound sorts self-checking by writing the word on the back of each pedal. You can even underline the featured phonics skill, like I did when I underlined the s at the beginning.
You can set it up where kids only work one letter sound flower
or sort between two sounds / flowers.
This is just one of the phonics skills covered in my Build a Flower Phonics Pack. In it are flower sorts for beginning sounds, ending sounds, short vowel words, bossy r words, long vowel words and MORE!

Thank you so much! My little kindergartener has been struggling with letter sound fluency so we did this activity today and it was so helpful!! Loved all the cute little pictures. Ok, so the only one we couldn’t figure out is one on the Z page… it looks like an inner tube? Can someone tell me what it is because it’s driving me crazy. Haha!!!!
Is it the zucchini? There is a picture key on each page of the download.
Thank you.

You’re welcome! 🙂
Just found your site through Pinterest and everything looks wonderful! However, try as I might, I can’t seem to find the teal, oval button link. I’ve scrolled all the way down, looked left and right, but no luck! Am I just blind?
I have not removed the link. It’s right after the Build a Snowman pack image at the end. Maybe you just need another cup of coffee. 😉
Thanks. I keep trying to get the free printable and it is not working.
Try a different internet browser and see if it works for you.
where is Xx????
It’s not in the beginning sound pack as there aren’t many words that kids would recognize that make the /ks/ sound at the beginning of a word. Xx is in the bundle pack with ending sounds.
Thank you for your alphabet flowers!! So awesome 🙂
You’re welcome! 🙂
