3 Sentence Types Printable Pack

Yes, I know there are really four sentence types {commands being the fourth}. But for the young learner, these three are the most concrete to start with. Commands can be added later after these three sentence have been mastered.

This is a printable pack that I went through with my own first grader towards the beginning of the year. And even though she’s in the second grade now, she still refers to the cut and paste sentence activity because it’s hung by her desk.

What’s included in this 3 sentence types printable pack? I wish I had real pictures to show you these “in action,” but I’ve been sick so screen shots will have to do.

3 Sentence Types Printable Pack - Cut, Sort, Glue Activity

Cut, Sort, & Paste Sentence Activity – This is the one I mentioned above that my daughter still refers to quite often when she’s writing independently. Learners sort three things about each kind of sentence: 1- What does the sentence do?, 2- What punctuation goes at the end?, and 3- An example sentence.

There are NO PREP worksheets as well as Sentence Sorts. Both the worksheets and sentence sorts have two levels so you can differentiate better for your learners. One includes the punctuation at the end of the sentences and the other level does not include punctuation at the end of the sentences.

Lastly, there’s an answer key so you’ll be sure your learners are doing it correctly. Woohoo! Grab the freebie by clicking on the teal button below. Be sure to check out the other sentence activities and freebies at the bottom of this post, too!
