Have you seen our FREE Sight Word Chants for animals? They quickly became popular at our house and with my readers. So, I created 24 more FREE Sight Word Chants! This time, we’re moving and sounding like different kinds of people.
Sight word chants are a great, multi-sensory way to get kids chanting and learning their sight words, which is especially helpful for struggling readers. Plus, these free sight word chants are sure to bring a smile to some faces!

With each card, learners are asked to move their bodies or make their voices sound like the person on the card.
A few examples of the people cards you’ll find are: a farmer, a chef, a teacher, a basketball player, a judge, a clown, a daddy, a baby, a hair dresser, a singer, a fire fighter, and MANY more! If you’re doing a unit on community helpers, this would be a fun thing to add to it!
For example, if learners pick the “Rock-a-bye, DADDY” card, they rock their arms back and forth as if holding a baby as they spell the word. Once the entire word is spelled, they say the word.
So, it would sound like, “b-u-t, BUT.” Learners may enjoy doing more than one card per word. Just this morning, we did 5 different sight word chants with each sight word from Learn to Read.
