If you’re working on bossy r, like my 1st grader has been, you may enjoy these free Bossy R Dot Pages.
After using and enjoying our count and dot the phonemes pages, I thought I’d integrate some dot work into her bossy r learning, too!

Bossy R Dot Pages
Dot paint is a staple at our house. If you have learners who enjoy using them, you may enjoy our entire collection of dot paint printable learning activities.
Level 1 includes 3 different bossy r pages. Learners simply identify the word and then dot the pattern that completes the word.
Because er, ir, and ur all make the same sound, I did not include them on the same row. I used these as an independent review activity for my 1st grader, so I didn’t want to stick ambiguous sounds on the same row.
And because the level 1 pages are quick, my 1st grader did all 3 pages in one sitting.
Level 2 includes the same patterns as level 1. But instead of just dotting the pattern, learners dot and then write the entire word.
I also used the level 2 bossy r dot pages as independent work {about a week later than the level 1 pages}. She only did 1 a day because level 2 requires a little more work than level 1.
Again, I did not include the ambiguous bossy r patterns of er, ir, and ur on the same line because her chance of spelling them incorrectly was too high.
