Phonemes Worksheets ~ Dot & Count the Phonemes

Just like our all our printable dot paint activities, adding dot markers to some phoneme counting can make it a little more fun!

These phoneme counting pages are not meant to teach kids to count phonemes {as worksheets can’t teach}. They are meant to give learners practice breaking apart the individual phonemes in words.

counting and dotting the phonemes

On each row, learners say the featured picture, then stretch the word out very slowly, listening for all the individual phonemes {or sounds} in words.

Not exactly sure about phonemes and why they are so important to reading and writing? Check out my 7-day series on phonological and phonemic awareness. These counting dot pages specifically give learners practice in separating phonemes.

Thank you SO much for creating the DOT the PHONEMES Pages! I love how you vary the phonemes, most resources I’ve found only have 2-3 with a scant 4. These are perfect! Another great item from TRM I will be sharing with my team!! 🙂
