Shape Pattern Cards
Give your young learners some practice with circles, triangle, squares, rectangles, ovals, stars, diamonds, and hearts in a creative way with these Shape Pattern Cards!

In this free pack, you’ll find these five patterns types in color and blackline.
- ABAB
- AABB
- ABB
- AAB
- ABC
Just print the cards off and either cut them apart into strips or leave them as one whole page. I also recommend that you laminate them if you will be using them multiple times.
Learners name the shapes and figure out the pattern. Several options are available for finishing the pattern.
You can cut apart the cards into strips. Learners can place the shape card in the missing spot. {The shapes needed for each strip are included in the pack.}
You can keep them whole {like mats} and have learners place the shape card to complete the pattern.
You can also slip the blackline shape pattern cards pages into a dry erase pocket. Learners can trace and write the missing shapes* using a dry erase marker… a sneaky way to work in some fine motor skills!
*Note: Learners are not asked to trace the star in this pack, as this is typically a later-developing shape to draw.
