A Quick Disclaimer: When introducing this game to your learners, try to avoid using the word “character” because it can imply these people are made up or fiction. I prefer to use the word “people.” If you say, “character,” just be sure you clarify that these were not characters in a fiction story like “The Three Little Pigs.” These were real people who really lived in history.
Old Testament Guess Who Game
This game is for 2 players.
TO PREP:
- Print one game board for EACH player. Players will need to hide their gameboards from one another. This can be done by standing a folder up between players to block the game boards or by using a notebook {see the image below with my Sight Word Guess Who?}.
- Print one set of cards for players to share.
- Print, cut, and shuffle the people cards. Place them facedown.
TO PLAY:
- Players each select a person card but keep it hidden from the other player.
- Learners take turns asking one another questions that can be answered with “yes” or “no” (see examples below) to figure out which person card the other player has.

Younger learners can ask “yes” or “no” questions based off the appearance of the person on the game board. {This is probably not what these people actually looked like. I’m only providing for you what I can based off the clip art I own.} For example, “Does your person have a beard?”
I would, however, highly encourage you to challenge older learners to also ask questions based off what a person did or said from the Bible. For example, “Was your person ever a king?” This makes the game a little more difficult and requires kids to tap into their Bible knowledge of the Old Testament!
