Jesus in the Old Testament Printable Pack

So much of the New Testament is brought to light through the lens of the Old Testament. We simply cannot disconnect the two!

In a fascinating interview, John MacArthur said to Ben Shapiro, “The same God, Who wrote the Old Testament, wrote the New Testament…The Scripture has One Author. And I need to say this: I am a Christian because of the Old Testament. Without the Old Testament, I don’t know whether I could believe the New Testament. That may sound strange to you, but how do I know that Jesus is the Messiah if I don’t have all the predictions of the Old Testament, defining Him when He shows up?”

One way to to help kids see this connection between the two testaments is by looking at the “shadows” of Jesus seen in the Old Testament. Hebrews 8:5, 10:1, and Colossians 2:16 both use the term “shadow.” Jesus even told his disciples in Luke 24 that the Scriptures of the Old Testament point to Him.

In this printable pack, I’ve included resources to help you not only understand teaching Jesus in the Old Testament, but hands-on tools to do so!

What’s included? I’m so glad you asked! 🙂

Jesus in the Old Testament Resources

I have written two Bible study resources to highlight Jesus in the Old Testament. Even from the very first verse of Genesis, we see Jesus, as everything is created through Him. We see this is Genesis 1:1, Colossians 1:15-17, and John 1:3. Middle school and up can do these studies independently, or you can do it with your own kids/the kids you teach down through 3rd grade.

Shadows of our Savior is great to read during Advent season, leading up to Christmas day, but it could be read ANY time. It goes through the Old Testament chronologically, pointing out how the “shadows” in the OT point us to Christ. Purchase a copy HERE.

COMING SOON! The Sacrifice of our Savior can be read during the Easter season, leading up to Resurrection Sunday, but it could also be read any time. It specifically focuses on the temporary offerings, sacrifices, and feasts found in Exodus and Leviticus and how they ultimately point us to the perfect and permanent sacrifice of Jesus.
