Today, I’m sharing freebies from Lesson 18 in Unit 5 of Learn to Read with the ET word family! If you’re new to Learn to Read curriculum, be sure to check out the introduction post.

And if you’re looking for more word family resources, hop on over to the free word family readers and activities.

ET Word Family Reader & Activities

The activities below are the freebies from the ET word family {lesson 18} of Learn to Read.

ET Word Family book - staple with long arm stapler

The ET word family book should be printed front to back {from the short ways when you open the PDF in Adobe Reader}. I use my long-arm stapler and it makes a simple book! The free version has the color book, while the bundled pack has the color & black/white version.

ET Word family puzzles - free from Learn to Read
The ET Word Family puzzles are a great way to reinforce reading and sounding out the ET words. The pictures provide extra support for kids who may otherwise struggle with this.

sight word rainbow roll and write from Lesson 18 of Learn to Read

Sight word rainbow roll & write page for so and will. Find more of these in each lesson or review rainbow roll & write pages, too.

The last freebie is the Roll, Read, & Find page. I don’t have an image of this one from this week for some reason. It’s a great activity for lots of skills!

More Activities from Lesson 18

Here are a few more shots of the activities from the ET word family lesson. These all come from the bundle pack. I wish I had more pictures of what we did, but it seems I stopped taking pictures as our school year neared the end.

ET word family slider

There are several different activities that can be used for practicing the ET word family. We don’t always do the same ones. This week, one of the activities she chose was the ET word family slider.

1-page ET word family poem

Another ET word family activity we did is the 1-page poem. “Hidden” in the poem are ET words as well as the new sight words from the lesson {so & will}.

I always read the poem first for comprehension, just for enjoyment. We talk about what we picture is happening and often the meaning of words {like fret}. On other days, she looks for and circles the new words and then we share-read the poem.

sight word roll and race for lesson 18 of Learn to Read

She almost always requests our sight word roll and race! It’s no prep and practices some math and handwriting. Lots of learning skills in one activity!

sight word dot maze - so

sight word dot maze - will

Our dot mazes are always a hit. We don’t always use our dot paint, but this week she did for both. This activity is definitely a challenge for her, as she has to really pay attention to the way words are spelled to get through the maze correctly. Love it!

I am unable to get to the 50 and 60 phonics activities. I type in the password from my email. I could not pull them up.
