“I’m bored.” It’s the phrase that, if you have school-aged kids, you’re bound to hear during the summer months of no school and little schedule. My response to this phrase is usually, “You could mop the floor,” or “You could do the dishes.” But I thought that this summer, I’d be a little more creative in busting boredom.
It’s not that I feel I need to somehow “cure” my kids’ boredom. Rather, sometimes we all fall into a rut and need a little boost to get our creative juices flowing. That’s what this FREE “I’m Bored” BINGO is all about!

“I’m Bored” BINGO
I don’t know about your kids, but my kids tend to gravitate towards the screen when they are “bored”. And during the long, summer days, I don’t want that to be their go-to. So, I created this simple and flexible “I’m Bored” BINGO chart.
While it’s not a true BINGO game, you could “play” it like that. The idea is that when kids need an idea to beat boredom, they can pick an activity on the BINGO chart.
The board has ideas for coloring, science, chores, exercising (outside and inside), reading, math, drawing, building, writing, painting, pretend play, and singing. I tried to brainstorm lots of different activities so that there would be something most kids like on it.
It’s flexible in that you can require some of these be done every day (like reading) and others just when kids want to do it. The activities in and of themselves might even look different from one day to another. For example, one day we might play Math Dice Jr. (awesome game, by the way) to accomplish “Solve It!” while other days, the kids may work in their Sylvan math workbooks.
I laminated it and have hung it on our kitchen wall right beside our problem solving chart. Laminating it, or slipping it into a plastic protector, makes the board re-usable week after week. Kids can just use a dry erase marker to cross off the square they do. If you have multiple kids using it, just let each child pick their own marker color.

Nothing happened when I clicked for the BINGO download.
That’s odd. I just clicked on the teal, oval button and it came right up for me. What internet browser are you using?
Great idea! I am terrible at coming up with ideas and even when I do they don’t want to choose them. This makes it their choice!
