Animal Classifications Cut & Paste Pages
These pages are SUPER SIMPLE, NO PREP, and yet packed with information about these five vertebrate groups: 1- Mammals, 2-Reptiles, 3- Birds, 4- Fish, and 5- Amphibians. These are just five pages out of our 100+ page Animal Unit Study Pack for K-2 learners!
While working on our pages, we also read several books about animals. You can find some of our favorites in our Animal Book List for Kids.
To use these pages, all learners need is a pair of scissors and a glue stick. As they cut out and glue down the animal characteristics for each group, talk about each one and what it means. Learners may also want to color the pages.
As you work each one separately, be sure to compare the animal characteristics. Ask questions like, “How are Fish and Reptiles the same?” or “How are Mammals and Birds different?”
Extension Idea! If you want to take it a step further, you could print off extra copies onto cardstock, laminate, and let the kids sort between more than one animal at a center.
