Did you know that in order to double the final consonant in a word, FOUR things must be true?

1. The word must be a one-syllable word.
2. The word must have one vowel.
3. The word must have just one consonant at the end.
4. The suffix you’re adding to the word needs to be a vowel suffix, like -ing.
