Reading the Alphabet Letter K Activities
This last week, NJoy (currently 4 years old) worked through the Letter K activities with a new sight word of me.
There have been some new activities added to make the lessons a little more challenging. I showed the new activities more in detail in last week’s post. NJoy is doing well with them and I’m so glad it’s challenging him more now. Here are a few of the activities in action from Letter K:
Letter K Emergent Reader
I was shocked that I didn’t have any pictures of him reading his Letter Kk Book this week, but I don’t so above is a sample page. 🙂 There’s also a black and white version that the child can color. The black and white version is what NJoy prefers.
Letter K Tracing
He LOVES his Handwriting Notebook {Did I just say he loves it? I am still in shock. This is the same boy who, just 6-7 months ago, wouldn’t sit and color anything, let alone trace very much.} In his notebook, I place Carisa’s tracing letters from her Raising Rock Stars Preschool Curriculum (seen on the opposite side from the page he’s working on),
I also place a tracer page for each letter
his sight word mazes
his sight word searches, and sometimes his sight word poke page (tracing).
I add more pages each week for each letter so that he can go back and re-trace or re-work any of the pages he’d like. And he does so quite frequently.
Cut and Pattern Cards
He still enjoys making patterns after cutting apart the cards and is always trying to “trick” me. Sometimes, I let him. 😉
Kite Color by Sight Word
I am so glad he enjoys his new coloring by sight words as much as I do! It’s a great way for him to review his older words.
Rhyme Time with Letter K
He enjoys the new challenge of finding the two pictures that DON’T rhyme and tries to figure them out before we say the picture names together. 🙂
Tracing Numbers with K Theme
He loved tracing his numbers 1-20 again this week. I only pull out about 6-7 numbers for us to do. But for the past two weeks, he has asked to do more. {A good sign!}
