Letter K Book List
This letter K book list was a fun one to round up and features books that have these letter K words: kiss, kangaroo, kite, & kitten. {Yes, not that many k words, but k isn’t all that common either!}
If you’ve never bought a Karen Katz book for your little one, Counting Kisses is a GREAT one to start with. Counting backwards as they kiss away, the family loves on baby until she is fast asleep. So cute!
A Kiss for Little Bear by has all the loveable characters of the Little Bear books. Kids will get tickled while following the journey of grandmother’s kiss for little bear.
A Kissing Hand for Chester Raccoon by Audrey Penn is the abbreviated version of A Kissing Hand. While older kids may enjoy the longer version, younger ones may like to listen to the shorter version. This is perfect for kids who are anxious about leaving their parents. It reminds them that a parents’ love for their child will be there, even if they aren’t together. What a sweet story.
As with almost all Eric Carle books, Does a Kangaroo Have a Mother, Too? has a simple rhyming text that kids will ask for again and again. I also love the list he includes at the end of the book, introducing animal baby vocabulary to young children.
Kite Day {a bear and mole book} by Will Hillenbrand is simply adorable. Bear sniffs the air and knows it’s Kite Day! They work to make a kite, only to have it snatched away by a storm. Join them on their search for the kite. Where could it be?
K is for Kissing a Cool Kangaroo by is one of those fun alphabet books that fits nicely with the letter K AND plays with the other letters of the alphabet, too. The silly rhyming text is sure to find a smile.
Kitten’s First Full Moon by Keven Henkes is such a cute little book about one determined little kitten! He just can’t seem to get the bowl of milk he so longs for…or does he?
Have you ever had your kite stuck in a tree? You may have, but not like the little boy in Stuck by Oliver Jeffers. Not only does he get his kite stuck, you’ll find so many silly things also getting stuck. Will it ever come out? You have to read to find out!
