Welcome back to my 4-part series on teaching the alphabet! Today, I’m sharing 26 different Alphabet Books for Kids. Reading alphabet books is a GREAT way to expose children to the alphabet within the context of a book. It’s also a great way to work on other skills, such as book and print awareness.
There is quite a variety in this group. There are some well-known books that have been around a while and newer books you may never have seen. Some of the books feature the alphabet’s letter sounds, like tongue twisters. Others, like Andy, That’s My Name, do not feature the entire alphabet, but show kids the power of letters. Still other alphabet books feature letters in fun and interactive ways. In this list, you’ll also find a few alphabet books that older kids will enjoy, such as Alphabeasties and Q is for Duck.

Thanks for this list! I just went through and reserved a bunch for my two year old, who’s ready to start learning more letters.
Awesome! 🙂
Z is for Moose is another great one. It’s better for older kids probably, but my 2.5 year old thinks it is funny.
I haven’t seen that one! I need to see if our library has it. Thanks for letting me know!
