Pumpkin Cut it Out! Pack {FREE}

By thisreadingmama 1 Comment

Seriously. Whenever Miss MBug {age 4} sees me working on a Cut it Out! Pack, she goes bananas, “Please, please, please, mommy. Print it off right now so I can do it!”

Our new Pumpkin Cut it Out! Pack was no exception. She could barely wait for the printer to print off the pages. I simply adore her enthusiasm for learning.

If you’re new to our Cut it Out! Packs, you can read more about them here as well as see all free downloads for all the themes of the year.

In the packs, there are four levels of cutting practice for kids {from younger preschoolers to Kindergartners} ~ 1) straight lines, 2) curvy lines, 3) zigzag lines, and 4) shapes.

Each cutting activity has an extension activity included so kids have something to do with all that paper they cut {besides chunk it in the trash}.

With our Fall Cut it Out! Pack, MBug tried the zigzag level for the first time with great success. This time, she tried the zigzag level again, matching the puzzle pieces up, then gluing them down.

She did so well with it, she decided she wanted to give level 4 (shapes) a go.

pre-cutting to help preschooler cut shapes

First, I cut apart the shapes into strip-like pieces so it would be easier for her to cut the shapes.

She was highly motivated to do this and did very well. She struggled a little on the ovals, but that’s to be expected. She was so proud of herself. 🙂

Once cut out, she glued the shapes down to form a picture (two jack-o’-lanterns).

NSis {2.5 years old} was bound and determined that she would cut out pumpkins, too. So, I printed off Level 1 for her. She used our Maped Koopy Spring Scissors and worked HARD to cut.

She needed help at times, but was determined to “Do myself”. {I love how she opened and closed her mouth each time.} I must add that I always print these onto cardstock so the paper isn’t so flimsy. Printing on regular copy paper can lead to frustration.
