FREE Magic e Activity Pages
These pages are formatted exactly the same as my Alphabet Activity Pages and my Short Vowel Activity Pages. They get kids reading, analyzing, coloring, and spelling those sometimes tricky long vowel, magic e {sometimes called silent e or sneaky e} words.
You can make them as interactive as you want, with dot paint markers, transparent counters, Power Magnets. Or just use coloring tools and a pencil. Either way, learners are getting in lots of CVCe practice!
Even “big kids” like an excuse to use dot markers once in a while, don’t they? This section of the magic e activity page asks learners to read words and analyze which ones are / aren’t long a words. I purposely threw in some “oddball” words, like have, which has a short a sound for a different reason.
After kids color in the pictures, they follow the shape of the words to spell each long vowel word.
When it’s finished, it might look something like this. Note: There is an answer key for every page in my Magic e Activity Pack.
Just a Bit of Phonics Trivia: Did you know that a silent e on the end of the word has several different roles? Read here to see more roles of the silent e in words and download another freebie!
