Summer is a time to take a nice break from school, but I was astonished to discover that a break without any learning can result in a student losing up to 60% of what he’s learned! What?!? Totally crazy!
So, I’ve created some writing prompts for June for my own kiddos and I wanted to share them with you, too! Once your young writer uses one of the prompts, he colors in that ice cream scoop!
One little tip: You may get your little writer to stretch the sentence out more by adding because or and onto it. So, a sentence such as, “In the summer, I like to go to the pool” could become “In the summer, I like to go to the pool because it cools me down after a hot day.”
You can also purchase my Write & Color Bundle Pack, which has Seasonal Word Banks and blank writing paper, too.

My boys are so excited because it is ice cream. I told them when they’ve done all the writing prompts, we will go for an ice cream treat. There were no tears or fighting from then. Thank you!
