0-30 Fine Motor Number Mats
These are a FANTASTIC way to help kids build those fine motor skills needed for gripping a pencil. Not only that, there’s a ten frame hidden in the corner of each mat for numbers 0-30.
There are many different ways to cover the mats. Encourage learners to grip small objects with their pointer finger and thumb when adding them to the mats.
Just a few ideas for covering the number mats might include:
- playdough {learners can roll it into small balls first}
- pom-poms and tweezers
- buttons
- snap cubes {as seen in photo above}
- dice
- mini erasers
- Power Magnets
You may have some learners who can’t resist using their dot markers. Feel free to have them use dot paint to dot the circles on their mat. Once it’s dried, learners can cover their colorful mats in the hands-on ways mentioned above.
