Couples of the Bible Puzzles

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, it’s time to do some matching with hearts and the married couples found in the Bible. Some of these are easy-peasy, while others may require a little more research for learners. By the way, this is a great way to get your kids using their Bible text features to find the information if they don’t know the answers.

This could be a fun activity to have kids do while you’re waiting on all your kiddos to arrive in a church classroom or as a mix and match to pair kids up for another activity you have in mind. Because there are 12 puzzles, you can use it for up to 24 kids.

Married Couples of the Bible Puzzles ~ Mary and Joseph Example

On each page, print off the puzzles, cut them out, mix them up, and ask learners to match them up.

The couples of the Bible puzzles feature these married couples from the Old Testament:*

  • Adam and Eve
  • Abraham and Sarah
  • Isaac and Rebekah
  • Jacbo and Rachel
  • Boaz and Ruth
  • David and Abigail
  • Xerxes and Esther
  • Ahab and Jezebel {bad guys!}

and these couples from the New Testament:

  • Zechariah and Elizabeth
  • Joseph and Mary
  • Aquila and Priscilla
  • Ananias and Sapphira

*Please note that some of the men in the Old Testament had more than one wife. This was NOT God’s design for marriage, nor was it ever condoned by God in Scripture. Many of the narratives found in the Old Testament are simply telling the stories of these people…sharing with us the good, the bad, and the ugly.
