Today, I’m sharing a FREE printable candy cane patterns page that my boys have enjoyed doing. Making patterns are something my boys really enjoy doing and candy canes lend themselves nicely to it! We used this alongside many of the activities from A Teaching Mommy’s Candy Cane Unit.

Candy Cane Patterns
This FREE Candy Canes Patterns printable {see download at the end} is perfect for the classroom, an after school activity or homeschool activity. The download has three colored candy cane patterns that kids can use to copy the pattern: 1) AB patterns, 2) AAB patterns, and 3) AABB patterns. There is also a blank template for kids to copy the patterns OR they can create their own.
Kids can use do-a-dot paint, round stickers, chocolate Christmas candies, or counters. I like to get more uses out of my printables, so we usually use manipulatives first, like the candy or counters and then come back and revisit with things that are more permanent, like the paint.

What a colorful and creative way to practice patterning and strengthen hands for writing later! Pinning and sharing on Playdough to Plato’s Facebook page. Thanks!!
Thank you, Malia!
We have a game a lot like this on our blog except we also used dice to determine how many dots of each color to use. My kids love candy canes this year. 🙂
Oh, I like that idea!!
