I don’t think I can pick just one! You’re resources are amazing. The “b and d reversal” resources are so practical. My students have benefited so much from them. They can independently use them to correct b and d reversals.

I have soany of your resources! I especially love the lower elementary worksheets! I have for sure been using color the chunk whith my phonics/spelling lessons. It is great because I can get my students to color the sound we are d then also use another color to show why a certain worl is spelled that way.. for example this week we used the ck and k spelling. Students were able to color in the sound ck but then the sound before was a different color. They were very visually able to see why we use ck!

I’m not sure what else I am needing.. maybe some stuff for lower elementary for writing different forms of writing. Personal narratives and fantasy for example.

As a homeschool grandma, I love learning about learning when I travel through the “rabbit holes” (links) on your site. My favorite things are the games- especially the telling time game cards- VERY helpful and my 6 year old loves them! I also like the creative writing information. Suggestions… hmm… maybe a blog about homeschooling in general, i.e. how to schedule subjects in the day, length of time on topics, best learning times, etc.

I love how I can match them to the skills that we are learning with Fundations. I runner up would be the color the chunk/vowel/digraph papers. Love having the students highlight the pattern we are working on and then tap them out. Both of these are great reinforcement. Would love to see decodable passages or printable books – bonus if they match Fundations patterns (ie= glued sounds, bonus letters, etc).

You have so many wonderful resources that picking one seems impossible. I love your focus on phonics even with traditional “sight words’ it makes so much more sense to teach decoding of these as opposed to memorization for most kiddos. I have found a select few are whole word readers and just truly memorize the words, those are few and far between though. Even for them however, when they read new words, being able to decode is incredibly important~

I really like your “Color The Chunks” pages. 🙂 I would love to see more of these page with multiple, alternative spellings of the sound, on one page please. So, not just ‘oa’ words on one page, but have a mixture of ‘oa’, ‘ow’, oe’ o_e’ and ‘o’ words so children are exposed to all the common spellings of a sound. Then they can colour the chunks in different colours (one colour for each spelling) and then write the words, sorting them into some boxes in their book – ie putting all the ‘oa’ words together etc
    🙂

This year, back in full person, the Social-Emotional Learning Visuals have been a blessing. The time away from the classroom, with some students on their own as mom or dad or sibling work in another room has significantly affected how students interact with each other and the level of respect they give to one another. Some of my students started the time of school separation in Kindergarten and have come back in with 2nd grade. Those were a loss of such formative years! We have gently put into place the framework, routines, and experiences to help them traverse this “new” environment.

I am looking forward to using the multi-syllable no-prep activities in the near future with all my 2nd & 3rd grade students. Right now I have doubled back to question how well they have understood the definition of a closed syllable as more than CVC. Turned out it was a big hole! In filling it with my lowest reading group, they were able to read their first 3-syllable word!!!!

Wow! Happy Blog Birthday! I have been following you for years! In past years, your freebie Math activities were my go-to for practice and stretching students understanding. But this year the main focus is helping all students catch up to grade level in reading. A diagnostic test early in the school year pointed to a significant need in phonemic awareness and phonics, even with higher readers. My middle readers like to study and “beat” the sight word cards. The attached sentences are a great way to show the word in context as opposed to just isolation. Thank you!

I have very much made this blog one of my go to resources for my homeschooling journey. I am homeschooling a second grader this year who has been a struggling reader. I have read all through your blog posts about struggling readers and have used the phonological awareness screening that you have posted on your site. I also have used and read through the other assessments and reading resources you have on your site for struggling readers. It has helped me out so much. I still have a lot more to explore on this site!

I have appreciated many of your resources! I especially appreciated the ten frame clip cards, sight word practice activities, and phonics resources such as the digraph and the blends packets. Thank you!
