When I think of Valentine’s Day and hearts, I think of symmetry. So, here’s a FREE printable that gets kids exploring symmetry within the capital letters: Mirror Me Letter Symmetry.
Students use these letter cards to fold in half vertically and/or horizontally to discover if they have symmetry.

This is something you will probably need to explore with your younger child (K/1st grade), or pair older kids (grades 2-5) up to try it out. Further directions are in the download.
Happy Valentine’s Day!

I love the letter symmetry idea! I read that Loreen Leedy has a new book on Symmetry called Seeing Symmetry. I’m not sure if it is out yet or not. I’ve read reviews so I guess it is. It’s supposed to be based on landmarks. Should be interesting!
Very cool. I didn’t know that. I’ll have to be on the look-out for it.
What a fantastic collection of activities! I also especially like the symmetry activity!
Thank you, Maryanne.
