Word Study’s application versus memorization is wonderful. It is aometjing I do with my students…and they are in college.

Would love to win! I’ve tried word lists from various sources and are currently using AAS. Not sure if my son likes it, though. I considered Spelling Mechanics before buying AAS. Maybe I should have stuck with it.

My favorite part about the word study approach is how it makes connections with other words.

Sorry, didn’t read the directions. HA! I like the word sorts because they make my son think about the word and take his time to listen to its pronunciation.

I love seeing the individual growth and being able to choose the words and make the links to other words!

I have not had a chance to use Spelling Mechanics yet, but I would LOVE to try the Grade 3 level with my daughter. I love that it studies patterns in words over just memorizing a random list of words each week and being tested on it.

I haven’t really thought about WHY I like it (I’m off to read your 10 days… series), but I do know that Spelling Mechanics works great for my daughter, who’s spelling was quite “behind’.

There’s more learning going on with a word study than with just memorizing the order of letters.

The word study approach is what is taught in Charlotte Mason writings. It would be nice to have a program to follow.

I love that Spelling Mechanics is different. It’s exactly what I was looking for in a spelling program. It’s not a memorization system. It teaches my kids to think about the words.
