Thanks for this, I am delighted by what you are doing and very interested to try out everything.
Word Study’s application versus memorization is wonderful. It is aometjing I do with my students…and they are in college.
Would love to win! I’ve tried word lists from various sources and are currently using AAS. Not sure if my son likes it, though. I considered Spelling Mechanics before buying AAS. Maybe I should have stuck with it.
My favorite part about the word study approach is how it makes connections with other words.
We are using level 1. I would love to win level 2.
Sounds like a great product, I would love to try 🙂
Sorry, didn’t read the directions. HA! I like the word sorts because they make my son think about the word and take his time to listen to its pronunciation.
I love seeing the individual growth and being able to choose the words and make the links to other words!
Anything hands on is good for my boys. Thanks for the chance.
Hello,
Ann from Spelling Mechanics Homeschool Word Study, here.
We are so very honored to be included in anything that is This Reading Mama.
Thank you for including us in your 10 Days of Giveaways!
~Ann
I have not had a chance to use Spelling Mechanics yet, but I would LOVE to try the Grade 3 level with my daughter. I love that it studies patterns in words over just memorizing a random list of words each week and being tested on it.
I haven’t really thought about WHY I like it (I’m off to read your 10 days… series), but I do know that Spelling Mechanics works great for my daughter, who’s spelling was quite “behind’.
More learning and retaining less memorization
There’s more learning going on with a word study than with just memorizing the order of letters.
I have never used the word study approach, but I did read your list. I like the idea of my daughter gaining active problem solving skills.
I’ve never heard of this, but sounds really great. More learning is always a good thing!
Love writing Mechanics so far
I like this approach because I feel like my kiddos retain more versus plain memorization. 🙂
The word study approach is what is taught in Charlotte Mason writings. It would be nice to have a program to follow.
I like this approach because it is working for my kids! NOTHING else has worked for them! Thanks for doing the giveaway!
We’ve yet to experience this word study approach. Thanks for mentioning it so I can check it out further.
Interactive and hands on.
This is fantastic!
I haven’t used it, but would love to try it with my sons. Sounds like a great program!
The word study approach makes connections in context and helps to cement.
I have never tried a word study with my kiddos, sounds like a great idea!
Would love to try this with my struggling speller
I love it! I have used Spelling Mechanics, and it has really helped my kids! I like it because it is so thorough, they truly understand the material, and it stays with them.
My 9 year old son struggles mightily with spelling. Maybe this would help! Thanks for the chance to win! 🙂
I like how it is for all levels…
I love that Spelling Mechanics is different. It’s exactly what I was looking for in a spelling program. It’s not a memorization system. It teaches my kids to think about the words.
I’m looking for something new, what we are currently doing isn’t working. I would love to win and try it out!
I would love to try this with my daughter.
I am new to homeschooling starting with a kindergartner and not sure what this is but would love to try it out!
