Color the Chunk – Short u Word Families

I love how visual these pages are, helping that word family chunk to jump off the page! The short u word families included in this pack are: -ug, -ut, -un, -ub, -ump, and -uck.

As with all our other word family color the chunk pages, there are two levels.

With Level 1, learners simply color* the chunks, then read the words.

*Older, struggling readers may prefer to underline or use highlighter to highlight the chunks.

With Level 2, learners color the chunk, read the words, and circle only the real words (not the nonsense words).

*Level 2 does not have a page for -ump or -uck. It seems we’re stuck again with too many inappropriate words. So sad.
