As our readers move from reading simple, one-syllable words like ten or cake to longer words, we want to help them see that longer words are often just built on the syllable types they already know from one-syllable words. These syllable types include:

1- Closed syllables
2- Open syllables
3- CVCe syllables
4- R-controlled syllables
5- Vowel team syllables {long and diphthongs}
6- Final stable syllables
