FREE Beginning Blends Puzzles
You can use these puzzles to practice phonemic awareness {isolating and segmenting sounds} as well as phonics!

Place the picture puzzle pieces out first.
Learners can name the pictures and listen for the blend at the beginning of the word. For example, /b/-/l/ are the sounds of the beginning blend of blocks.
Give learners the puzzle pieces with the beginning blend letters and have them match up the pieces of each puzzle. By having learners complete the puzzle, you’re connecting sounds {or phonemes} to letters {or graphemes}, which is phonics.
Confused about graphemes and phonemes? See if this post & video help!
