I’m back! After taking a week-long {much needed} blogging break, I’m back to join in on the after school party link-up! There were LOTS of great ideas shared last week on the link-up, but here are a few of my favorites:
It’s a life-sized Magna Doodle with Happy Hooligans! Jackie shares how she did this with the younger children in her home, but his idea is such a great one for practicing letter formation and spelling words!
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE The Measured Mom’s series on Word Study, an alternative to traditional spelling. You have to check out her series! Word study is my absolute, all-time favorite approach to teaching phonics and spelling.
10 {Unconventional} Building Blocks Kids Love by School Time Snippets {Guest Post on Frogs and Snails and Puppy Dog Tails}
Summer Word Vocabulary Jar by What We Do All Day. Super simple, yet HIGHLY effective! Love!

It’s time to link up again! We would love to have you link up your School-Age Post (Ages 5 and up) about your learning week after school including Crafts, Activities, Playtime and Adventures that you are doing to enrich your children’s lives after their day at school, homeschool or on the weekend! When linking up, please take a moment to comment on at least one post linked up before yours and grab our after school button to include a link on your post or site! By linking up you’re giving permission for us to share on our After School Pinterest Board, Social Media Sites or Feature a link and/or image on our After School Party next week! Don’t forget to follow along and join our After School Enrichment Community.
Thanks for featuring my post!
You’re so welcome! I loved it!
I’ve contacted you earlier when you did your series on word sorts, and now your link to the Measured Mom has me considering that approach again. Do you know of any resources that contain lists to use for sorts? My son will be in 4th grade, but since we’ve done very little formal spelling I don’t know if he’d be on grade level or not.
