Welcome back to Simple Writing Lessons for Primary Grades, a 12-week series with The Measured Mom and me. If you would like some background or would like to review the lessons we’ve covered so far, please click HERE.
Sometimes young writers have such a BIG subject to write about that it’s hard to get focused on exactly what to say about it. This can leave young writers feeling overwhelmed and defeated (and their parents, too).
I once heard that we have to help kids write about the watermelon seed versus the entire watermelon (may have been a Donald Graves quote). And I love that! So, just how do you help kids choose a tiny topic? Please join The Measured Mom today as she models it with her young writer. Heads up- you may need to locate a funnel for this strategy! 😉
