Dice. Most kids love them. Add dice to an activity, like spelling or handwriting, and it can bring a somewhat boring activity to life. Add some rolling cubes and you’ve got an even sweeter deal! These fall themed cube inserts are the perfect way to mix in some fun to almost any learning activity.

Have you ever seen Photo Stacking Blocks or Differentiated Instruction Cubes? They are a seriously FUN and active way to add dice to any activity. I love them because they are soft and QUIET {the small dice aren’t always quiet}. You can also use inserts and change out the activities for any subject area.
Fall Themed Cube Inserts
I’ve made some fall themed cube inserts for my kiddos and thought I’d share them. In this pack are 10 different fall themed cube inserts including back to school, apples, fall, pumpkins, and Thanksgiving. If you want to have matching dice, just print off two of your choice. I always print onto cardstock for durability. I’ve never laminated mine.
We have the Photo Stacking Blocks, but from what I read on Amazon review and hear from my Facebook readers, Carson-Dellosa’s Differentiated Instruction Cubes also work {and are a cheaper option}.
Here are just a few simple ways to use these cubes:
Roll and Add – kids can do this with or without writing the number sentences
Roll and Compare – which one is the bigger number
Roll and Graph– younger kids may enjoy stacking blocks on top of each number
I’ve been asked how I store all my inserts because we have A LOT of inserts available on the site {as you can see below}. I have re-purposed the plastic box I used to use for coupons. It is similar to this one.
