If your household is anything like ours, we haven’t quite lept into the technology world of ipads and smart phones. Even my phone is a “dumb” phone because all I can really do is make phone calls…sometimes text. 🙂
So, with MBug’s recent interest in her letters, we’ve spent a lot of time on youtube looking at videos. It really is an awesome resource. At 21 months, she can already identify 5 or 6 of her letters consistently and is trying to make their sounds as well. It is so fun to see.
Here are a few of her favorite youtube ABC links:
- Phonics Song 1
- Phonics Song 2–She actually has a slight obsession with this one. When she wants to watch it (which seems like 100 times a day), she comes up to me and says, “/a/ /a/ apple, /b/ /b/ ball.”
- We Are the Alphabet
- The Letter Sounds Song
- Sing the Alphabet with Me
- Elmo Sings Rap Alphabet Song
- The Alphabet with Elmo
And don’t forget about Starfall’s ABC section…another great online resource!
