I came across some ideas from Steve Reifman for Writer’s Workshop via Twitter.  When I taught in public school, I absolutely LOVED Writer’s Workshop and so did my students.  At home, Writer’s Workshop is a bit more difficult to “pull off”, but if you are a part of a homeschool group, it would be well worth your time to try.

Here are Steve’s 4 posts: Improving Your Writing Workshop- Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, & Part 4

Here are three of my favorite books about Writer’s Workshop:

  • The Art of Teaching Writing by Lucy Calkins (Yes, it’s a long read, but WORTH every word!!)
  • The Writing Workshop: Working Through the Hard Parts by Katie W. Ray (This is the first book I ever read about Writing Workshop.)
  • Writing Essentials: Raising Expectations and Results While Simplifying Teaching by Reggie Routman

DON’T FORGET ABOUT MY GIVEAWAY!  You have until Wednesday, July 27th to enter!
