This Reading Mama

Saturday’s Savorings

By thisreadingmama 5 Comments

I’ve decided to join Carisa & Jolanthe in posting (when I can get it done) my memories from the week.  I’m calling it “Saturday’s Savorings”.  The good, the bad, and yes; even the ugly. 🙂

I’ll be honest.  It was a rough week for me.  Juggling 4 little ones during school time has been a challenge.  I jokingly told someone the other day that we have the perfect storm at our house: NJoy- in his “terrible threes” , MBug- entering her “terrible twos”, a newborn, and a sleep-deprived mama.  I know it’s only a stage and it will be gone before I know it…and a small part of me (very small, I might add) will actually miss it.

I do have a few highlights of the week:

Our new bubble machine (an Easter present for the kids to share) was a huge success!  All the kids love it and beg for it every time we go out to play.

MBug has now learned to climb on the stools in the kitchen and thinks she’s big stuff now that she can eat lunch beside her brothers.

She and I had a rough week.  She’s learning that she can break the backspace key off the laptop, unroll almost an entire toilet paper roll in the bathroom, & climb on ALuv’s desk and get his glue stick down…all while mama is nursing.  Needless to say, we didn’t see eye to eye very much this week.

But here are a few shots I’ll savor:

Playing ball together

Playing with her ABC Pocket Chart letters (in her daddy’s hot rod shirt he wore as a child!)

Do-a-dot paint tops-YAY!

I love how the kids are taking to NSis.

NJoy asks to hold her more and more.  I love this picture I caught of him.  Just wish I knew what was going through that little head of his…

ALuv read her his independent readers.  She already knows 10 of her letters at six weeks of age, and this is why! Ha!  (Sorry the picture’s so dark.)

And one last picture: my two girls and me.  I don’t like having my picture taken…never have.  But I’m glad that I let my husband do it.  My kids need to see pictures of me, too!  That reminds me–it’s WAY past due time to update the pictures on my blog…I’m working on it, mom! 🙂

So, there you have it-the good, the bad, and sometimes the ugly.  Such is life.  Savor each moment, mama!

Your life sounds a little like mine! My kids are 8,6,4,2 and 6 months. I also try to post pics of myself (even with all the post baby weight) because I know it will be important to my kiddos. Looking forward to checking out more of your blog (:

We will be adding our 4th little one in August this year. I’m very excited/nervous to see how it will all go with school (I’ll have a 1st grader, pre-ker (who likes to think he’s a 1st grader, and a 3yr. old (who likes to think he can do anything his siblings can do….including big kid school) lol). Anyway, it looks like you have it under control! We LOVE bubble machines here at this house. 🙂 And I agree it is important for littles to have pictures of their moms and with their moms….guess I should have a few more taken of me.
