My sweet hubby won’t be with us this Father’s Day. He has a wonderful reason to be gone. He goes with the high school kids at our church on a missions trip. He’s done so for the last few years (with the exception of the year MBug was born). So, we got to work early this year and cranked out some Father’s Day cards…a great way to incorporate some writing for an authentic purpose!
I challenged ALuv this year to write more in his card. More than the usual “Happy Father’s Day! I love you!” message…
NJoy told me what he wanted to me to write on his card and then he wanted to write his own name. 🙂
I wrote out MBug’s card and she colored on it, naming letters as she colored.
We put the cards in an envelope that daddy will take with him so he has some homemade cards to open on his special day!
So, Happy Father’s Day, babe! We’ll miss you and are praying for you as you serve others.

I found you through Not Consumed & I just love this. We are going to be spending Father’s Day with our dads this year even though I wanted to give hubby the day off. I might do something like this & choose another day he can have to himself complete with some reading material from the kiddos!! Cute, cute. Can’t wait to read more from you. Liked your FB page too!
Thanks, Kelly. So glad you like.
What a great idea. Visiting from the homeschool creations link up
Also visiting from the Moments to Remember. I love the special cards they made.
That is such a great and sweet idea! 🙂
