It’s hard to believe it with the cold weather we’re having right now, but SPRING IS HERE! To get us in the mood for Spring, we ordered a cup of caterpillars from Insect Lore. The last time we had the caterpillars in our home, ALuv {currently 1st grade} wrote down daily observations in a journal. I love science for that very reason: it integrates seamlessly with literacy! This year, I didn’t enforce the journal writing every day, but he was assigned the job of measuring the caterpillars each day and he did do some writing about them with this caterpillar observation sheet I made him.
You can download a copy for FREE, too. {There is a version for the younger child with the tri-lined paper and another version for the older child who doesn’t need the younger lined paper.} Please feel free to use in your home or classroom!
