Color the Chunk for Long u Word Families
Our color the chunk pages have become a favorite with readers. I have enjoyed reading the numerous emails of how people are using them and what a difference they are making for your learners! What a blessing!
There are SIX long u word families included in this pack are: -ew, -oo, -oom, -oon, -ue, and -ute.
Learners just color in the word family chunk in each word. They then use the chunk to help them read each word aloud. Several of the long u word family pages have compound words or two-syllable words at the bottom of each page. Be sure to give learners extra support with these words if they need them.
Quick Tip: Help learners start reading at the BEGINNING of the word by putting a green dot under the first letter.
