Letter F Book List- Read Alouds for the Letter F

These are some of our favorite Letter F Books. These books are perfect for any time of the year, but go very well with a study of the letter F. Listed right below here are two places you can find Letter F packs on our blog. Learning the Alphabet is designed for kids who need to learn their letters and sounds while Reading the Alphabet was designed for kids who already know their letters/sound and are ready for something a little deeper before Kindergarten.

Letter F Book List

This Letter F Book List features these F words: fire engine, foot, fish, firefly, feathers, & football.

We own quite of a few of the Touch and Feel books. I love the detailed photographs, simple text and sensory opportunities included in each one. Fire Engine is a fun one to read for the letter F and includes great vocabulary, even for preschoolers.

The Foot Book by Dr. Seuss is such a classic. This is probably one of his simpler and shorter texts with great rhyming fun!

Ten Little Fish by Don & Audrey Wood is one of our favorite rhyming books. Just this past week, I have probably read it 5-6 times with my 2 and 4 year old. I love how the pages invite kids to rhyme with the next number.

The Very Lonely Firefly by Eric Carle is about a lonely firefly who wants to find a friend. He sees all kinds of lights that glow in the dark. And, as an added bonus, the fireflies actually light up at the end of the book…surprise!

Little Football contains little rhyming riddles about the game of football. If you have a sports lover, you may want to try the entire collection, as I hear the other books in the collection are very well done, too.

Feathers for Lunch by Lois Ehlert is such a great book full of vocabulary. Poor cat is tired of his canned cat food. He just wants something tasty for lunch. But all he gets for all his snooping and prowling is feathers for lunch.

One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish by Dr. Seuss is another F Book classic. This one is a bit longer and right now, my 2 year old will not sit through it. So, if you have a squirmy one {or two}, this book may just need to be saved for when she is a little older.

Fish Eyes is another Lois Ehlert book that is a great one to read for the letter F. Kids can work on counting and 1:1 correspondence. The images are VERY colorful and will keep the attention of even the youngest child.
