Helping Readers Remember What They Read

Have you ever had your child answer, “I don’t know,” when you asked a question about what (s)he just read?

Sometimes, “I don’t know,” is just a ploy to get out of answering the question. Other times, readers lack the comprehension strategies they need to figure out the answer. This is especially true of struggling readers.
