Do your kids like to do schoolwork all over the place? Mine do. Even though we have a designated schoolroom in our house, there are those times during the daily school routine that an activity works best on the floor or outside or in the car…you get the point. 🙂
That’s why I love having our HearthSong Folding Lap Desks. We have had much use out of them and they are still going strong. My three oldest kids each received one of these for Christmas this past year- one of each color available. I wrote their names on each one with a Sharpie and we use the all.the.time.
We use them for all sorts of things {including snack time}.

My Two Favorite Things about the Folding Lap Desk
It folds! I love that it collapses. We store all of ours in a small spot in our schoolroom.
It opens up for storage inside. Your child can take pencils, papers, etc. with him on the go!

Homeschooling two little girls ages 2 & 3 who could use this during the lessons as a break from the table.
To keep our older child’s work off the floor and out of the hands of our littlest 🙂
I’d use it for the kids to a special workspace. It’d be fun to be able to go anywhere and have a space to work.
First of all, let me say…..this is the smartest thing I have seen in a long time! To answer the question, we would use it during Math, and calendar work as we usually do these on the floor with the MUS blocks and the calendar binder.
These look amazing! I think that we would utilize it most with the 4 year old so he can have his “school time” without disturbing big brother at the table. I also think that it would be great for car trips 😀
Nora likes to color everywhere in the house, so this would help me allow her to! I worry she is going to color on our bed, Etc. 🙂
Looks great. They would definitely come in handy for my little artist and the boy who wants to do worksheets in the living room.
Genius! I would use them for homeschooling, being able to switch up our location! Love this!
My 9 year old step-daughter and 5 year old daughter could use the folding lap desks to complete their school work in a more comfortable/relaxed position than sitting upright at the kitchen table. I love that they are able to be folded for easy storage! Such a bonus!
I think they would get use just about everywhere, from schooltime to snacktime to playtime!
What a great idea! I could use them indoors and outdoors since they fold so nicely!
I would use them everywhere! But I think they’d be great for road trips, especially since they fold up. Thanks for the giveaway!
I would use them everywhere. We like to school outside. These would be perfect
My kids love to plop down where they are to do homework. What a portable, great idea.
Those are awesome! I think they would get used most when we do Home Art Studio while they sit in front of the TV lesson.
I’m thinking this would be perfect for outside!
Looks so convenient!
My son fights sitting at the table to do his school work, this would give him permission to be on the floor and do his work.
We’d use it to store some of our supplies for our written work, so we could take it and go to wherever we chose to do the work for the day. It would make it so much easier to have it stored inside there. Love how compact it gets when not in use.
I would use it to let my kids do some independent work in their rooms. They don’t have desks in their rooms but sometimes the oldest one especially needs to get away from the chaos of the kitchen and have some peace and quiet to work.
A few of these would be perfect during small group lessons. School days are long for my kinder-bears and any resource that allows for movement, innovation, and independence could make the difference for a little one needing less structure to gain more opportunities for success.
I love that they store items inside. Yay!
I would use the lapdesks to let my son do some of his schoolwork at the couch. He has always asked to do math at the couch, because we usually do that right after reading, which we CAN do at the couch. I always have to tell him no because we need a surface to do math…so, this would be perfect for that! 🙂 Thanks for a great giveaway!
I would let my kids wander the house with them since they have trouble staying in one spot anyway!
I’d take it outside on a nice day for some outside homeschool time. Thanks!
These look great! We would use it when we are on the go! Or when we are sitting on the couch when I am reading and the kids are drawing!
Like you, we have a designated studio/school room, but my kids still love to bring things into the living room. This would be perfect for them!
This would be great for playing legos on! No more little pieces in the carpet!
We would use this for school lessons. We have limited space so this would be perfect for us!
This looks like a great idea! Sometimes my boys complain about the other *Shaking the table* etc. I will be taking on my learning disabled niece as well. Something like this could be very helpful since she needs a lot more one-on-one.
PS: Good luck everyone!
It would be great for developing fine motor skills and any kind of writing, especially when we have a craft drying on the kitchen table. (Something glued or painted)
My boys would use this to do schoolwork. Sometimes, it’s nice to have a change of scenery from the usual. : )
We would use it for school and also on trips. My son loves Legos, so anything that “captures” the Legos when we’re on-the-go would be great!
With my 5 yr old, kindergartener. He would LOVE not having to sit at the big table for worksheets. Also looks like it would be a good place for games up off the floor.
During our morning circle time while in beanbag chairs!
This would be great to use outside or on the go!!
Space, Space and more space-love that it folds!
That would be a toss up – either at home for my son or at school in my classroom! Both would be great places to use it.
This will be great to use at home and away from home. I have limited space at the moment and it would fit nicely on my desk when we are not using it. It is also a great thing for my son to put his cars in for when we travel!!!
To take school work outside on a beautiful day!! or for play in the car this fall when we take our vacation! 🙂
We would use it for homeschool and for travel also! Thanks for the chance to win!
Great way to do school work outside.
Would love to win this!
Thank you for introducing me to this idea…if I don’t win one, I will have to buy some!
I would love this to switch up locations for our homeschool preschool and for coloring/writing practice.
I would use these for take it to you spot centers.
Carol T.
My boys could do their school work anywhere they wanted!
I would use the folding lap desk for my son’s school work. Also, I would try to take it with us to work in the yard or at the park.
We would LOVE to be able to leave the table and have an efficient way to work ANYWHERE!
These would be nice for my girls to use on the couch so that little brother can be in the room playing with us but not getting the schoolwork.
My boy is a floor dweller so he would LOVE this 🙂
My boy loves to do his work on the floor and this would be perfect for him!
These look awesome! We would definitely use these to replace our current lap desks. These take up so much less space. My daughter loves to be on the floor when she colors, and this would be great for that.
I would use this with my daughter when she colors or reads books. She loves to sit on the floor rather than a conventional desk.
I would use the folding lap desk for my granddaughters and as a reward in my kinder classroom.
We home school our 2 girls, ages 8 and 9 and they love to do their school work anywhere but at the table 🙂 Having the lap desks would be so totally neat to not only keep their papers organized but wouldn’t it be neat to do school work with these at the park under a shady tree with a picnic lunch?
I would use a folding lap desk when we go outside for nature studies.
I would use this to do school outdoors, while we travel in the car or when we are at home!
My kids would love to use this to draw!
We would use it for reading and doing activities more easily in the living room. We typically use our coffee table and this lap desk would be worlds more perfect.
This would be perfect for those long vacation car rides.
We had lapdesks (nothing as cool as these though!) last school year (they got broken easily…). The kids did their calendar binders at them and loved being able to be on the floor, but still have writing space. We do art projects on them too! Would love these awesome collapsible ones!
I love that these collapse! Great colors, too!
This would be perfect for my daughter who has mobility issues and gets heavier and heavier to push up to a table in a chair. She could sit on the couch or floor and use it. Wonderful idea!
I would love it for my kiddos to have a “special” work area.
These lap desks are really cool. They offer the kids freedom to do their work anywhere. I hope we win one.
My kids would use them for everything! Drawing, shape matching, file folder games, school work, snacks 🙂 Thank you for the opportunity to win!
We would use one all the time…my kids love to work on the floor: school work, art projects, etc.
i’d use it for road-tripping
Will use this for reading on the bed!
Calendar time would definitely be done with the foldable tables. My oldest like to work on the floor a lot, but we don’t like the holes in his work.
i’d use it for my child to do her homeschool on it
We would use it everywhere! For schools, snacks and even in the car!
This would be really handy in my Preschooler’s small bedroom.
I would use it as a center station in my classroom.
We don’t have much room to store stuff so this would be a great little thing to have.
I would love to use this at circle/calendar time!
I would us the foldup lap top for my kids school worksheets, etc.
As a individualized literacy center in my classroom either for those who need extra help or need some extra attention.
To give my kids a fun space to work.
Homeschooling.
I can think of so many uses for these lap desks. I think they would be especially good for car trips!
My kids would love these!! We would use them for school, art, or even special nights eating on the floor
The folding lap desk looks cool!
I would use it lots of places but I think the car would be my top pick.
My oldest loves to take her schoolwork all over. This would be great for her!
My kids don’t like to sit at the table to draw so these would be perfect in their room or at the living room floor!
I would use it Homeschooling a 5 and 2 year old.
Obviously anywhere and for whatever we please since they fold and go AND have storage! How perfect! 🙂
my older two could find a quiet place to work while I work with my younger 2 with these
My kids would all use them for drawing
For drawing, on the floor, and in the car.
These sound like a great idea! I live in a townhouse so any space saving ideas are awesome! We currently have an office/classroom in one of the bedrooms but I would definitely use these to have my sons do their work on and I love the colors of them! It makes it more fun for kids than to have a regular foldup table.
The kids like to move here and there to do work so this would be something great for them.
We are in the car quite a bit. These would be perfect for work on the go!
We’d probably use it for carschooling.
These would be great to take school around the house, since we don’t have a designated school area anyway. My preschooler especially would like having a space of his own!
This would be great for my little 6-year-old artist to use upstairs in our house, since there are no tables up there.
I would use it as my son’s school work area. He would be more motivated to sit and do his work.
These are so awesome!
These would allow us to spread out on the floor!
With my kiddos during work time 🙂
My sons can do school throughout the house, not just at the table.
I would use this as a special workplace that can be taken anywhere and still be very functional!
I would use this for my oldest who begs to color and do school work in the living room, but we have a rule about crayons leaving the kitchen table. Maybe this could contain them for special activity time.
My son and I travel quite a distance each day. This would be WONDERFUL for him to use in the car. He loves to read, color, draw, and sometimes snack, all while driving! Thanks for a great giveaway!
We do alot of our schoolwork sitting on the floor, I’m sure the kids would fight over the desk, but they’d all use it for schoolwork, and artwork, and possibly snacking LOL.
For school- ALL THE TIME! MY kids don’t really like sitting at their real desks. 🙂
I’ve been looking for something like this. Oh,the possibilities.
We would use them to switch up school locations and sit in the family room.
Would be great to use on days we work outside. When we need a change of scenery.
She likes to sit on the bed, the floor, anywhere but her desk and do work so this would sure help.
In the car!
These would be great to use to move school beyond the kitchen table.
This would be perfect for my two little ones at home.
In the car, at Grandma’s, during read aloud time they could be coloring…so many ideas!
Id love to use it for doing school outside on nice days.
Love this!!!
Oh I’ve been wanting a lap desk but we don’t have space to store it – except these would be PERFECT because they fold! My kids would love using this in our school area as well as the living room.
school time
My 3 year old would love to paint on it. 🙂
We have a few lap desks but mine don’t fold up and are always in the way so this would be perfect on saving room. We normally use them for snacks & school work while watching a documentary.
I would use these all over! In the home, in the car, in the yard, at the park, at the beach!!! The opportunities are endless! THANK YOU for this!
For working wherever they want. Thanks for the chance!!!
I would use it for math time. We’re down on the floor with cuisinaire rods, and then when we do things on paper it would be so nice to have lap desks!
let the kids sit and do school in the yard, they would love that this fall!
Living on an RV for the next 6 months, so…. Everything! And it stores when we are not using it! Cool!!
My daughters ongoing artistic pursuits!
Everywhere the boys feel like doing school!
My daughter would love to use one of these to draw while sitting on the couch. The baby steals her crayons when she’s at the little table and she has to sit on her knees at the kitchen table.
Play Doh time!
we are remodeling right now so the girls don’t have a personal space to do their work, these would be fantastic!
I would use these for art work space!
My girls would love these. We bought and currently live in a house that is a total remodel = total mess. I also like that they could be comfy and portable to different areas of the house, vacations, etc.
Oooo. We need one of those!
My kids would really love these over the trays they have now!
Be perfect with my oldest son trying to escape his little brother.
in the car.
Daily school activities! Or maybe as a stage for Legos!
As a puzzle station!
I would use these as a fun way to simply give my girls a “change of scenery” as they are coloring, drawing, or working on lessons.
I love the bright colors, sturdiness, and that it is great for my preschooler when she wants to learn outside and easy to pack for traveling. Great invention! I hope I win 🙂
For the girls to have a special time for their work independently
Anywhere and everywhere! My children love doing school everywhere, especially outside.
