Free Cursive Handwriting Worksheets - This Reading Mama

If you’ve followed me for very long, you know that I’m not a huge fan of worksheets or workbooks. I do, however, use them from time to time. And this is one of those times.

ALuv (going into 3rd grade) has been working on cursive handwriting and loving it. I checked out the order in which Handwriting Without Tears suggests to teach cursive and created some cursive handwriting worksheets for him to coincide with their developmental suggestions.

Today, I’m sharing them for FREE {download is at the end of this post}.

FREE Cursive Handwriting Worksheets

In this pack, you’ll find TWO levels of handwriting practic:

cursive handwriting worksheets level 1LEVEL 1 looks like this and includes tracing and writing

cursive handwriting worksheets level 2

LEVEL 2 looks like this and encourages independent writing

cursive handwriting practice page

ALuv has been working through Level 2 and will continue to do so this summer. He has really enjoyed it so far and I’ve been impressed with how much he has retained and used.

Thank you so much for the cursive writing pack! My 2nd graders use their own version, so this will be a good incentive: those that have nice printing can learn cursive!

I really love these handwriting packets! They are great for my kids because we begin cursive in kindergarten, so these words are totally on their level as we progress from letters to short easy words that they can actually read and spell. I’m just curious how you made these and whether you have any more? Is there any way I could make my own with the spelling words they are using?

I’m so glad you can use them with your kids! You can find more handwriting resources in this post –> https://thisreadingmama.com/handwriting-notebooks/ I made them using a font from http://www.fonts4teachers.com and just did it in Power Point. Hope that helps.

Thanks so much for making these packs available. Our school system is not teaching cursive writing since adopting common core standards. I’ve decided to teach my grandson myself. I still think it is important.

You are the best for creating and offering these for free. My son has a learning disability that makes handwriting very difficult. We’ve been doing Occupational Therapy with Handwriting without Tears, but insurance cut off his services. Using these to keep him going while we appeal.
    Thanks again!
