My kids like to go look at the Christmas lights every year. We have a couple of elaborate displays close to our house that the kids “ooh” and “ahh” over. This week, I suggested that we go look at Christmas lights one evening as a way to pass a little time before bedtime and I actually heard, “I don’t want to.” What?!? I knew it was time to add a little Christmas Scavenger Hunt twist!
If you’d like more printable BINGO-type boards, you might to check these out: Road Trip BINGO, Interstate BINGO, Beginning Blend BINGO, Blend BINGO, Long Vowel BINGO, and Word Family Blackout. Can you tell we love to play games? 😉

I got to work and created some Christmas Scavenger Hunt BINGO boards {free download is at the end of this post}. And guess what? The next day, I pulled out the BINGO boards; and before it was even dark, they were begging me to take them looking at the lights.
Since most my kiddos are younger, I chose to create BINGO boards with images. If you have older kiddos who would like an extra challenge, I recommend the Christmas Scavenger Hunt searches from Not Consumed or Kids Activities Blog. But I knew my younger ones wouldn’t be able to read all the words.
The kids all packed their BINGO boards and markers in their lap desks, which we use all.the.time. {We have the green one, blue one, and pink one.} And off we went that evening.
We played Christmas Scavenger Hunt BINGO in a non-competitive way, with the kids helping each other cross off their boards. And they all decided that you had to cross off all your objects to complete it, not just get 4 in a row. If you’d like to make it more competitive for your family, it can be played so that the first person who spots the object on their board can cross it off and no one else can.
