Last week, our homeschool group met for our first Charlotte’s Web book club. Here are some pictures from our time together:
The older kiddos listened as one of our moms read the first chapter aloud. They focused on a few vocabulary words and the setting of the book.
Each child also got to create their own name using their initials; like E.B. White.
We touched on roman numerals, since each chapter is labeled with a roman numeral,
and they got a chance to try it out by reading the numbers in some of the chapters. They caught on rather quickly!
One of our moms found this FREE Charlotte’s Web lapbook, so we plan on using a lot of it with them as well.
The younger kiddos all listened to Duck on a Bike. On each page, they waved to the farm animal and said, “Hello!” (It was so cute to watch.)
They spelled some farm animal names out of bottle caps (from my FREE PreK Farm packs)
and sorted animals as either animals that live on a farm or animals that don’t.
They also played with some farm-themed toys…puzzles
and these cool wooden stacking blocks!
I’ll share more as we continue to meet. I just LOVE this book and can’t wait to read more with ALuv.

What a great idea! We really enjoy that book too. I like your activities for the older kids and I like how you had such creative activities suitable for the younger ones. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, Rebecca. 🙂
